The Power of Sharing

This past Monday, Presidents Day, I was having a conversation with a friend (who happens to be a history buff) and he brought to my attention that this year marks 150 years since the Civil War. I was forced to pause and really think about that. In 150 years this country has gone from President Abraham Lincoln to President Barack Obama. We have evolved from horses and carriages, to jets and space shuttles. We have gone from a time when it took weeks to relay a message, to a time where sharing information can be done in a matter of minutes, maybe even seconds.

That’s pretty amazing, right? Think about that. You have the capability today to share anything you want with whomever you want, essentially, whenever you want. You can call your loved one on a phone, a mobile phone; and leave a voicemail if they don’t answer. You can tell a friend you miss them just by sending a text or writing on their Facebook page. You can send an email with a virtual birthday card to your sister because you didn’t have time to mail it, like snail mail. You can Skype your co-worker when you can’t get away from your desk, but you just have to tell them something right at that moment. That’s pretty powerful. How fast we share information in today’s society is remarkable, if you stop and think about it.

Just one way that sharing is caring in our modern day world?

Inform the people you care about when you come across a sweet deal in the Shooger app. I mean, if you want to do the right thing, and spread the love- in the form of savings, all you have to do is use the Shooger Share Feature. Share the sweet life.

So, how do you share a sweet deal? Easy.

Step 1: When you’re in the app, see a great deal and immediately think how much your BFF would appreciate it, select the “Share” icon located at the bottom of the deal next to your other options (redeem, like, and clip).

Step 2: Once you hit share, you can choose how you want to spread the sweetness. Your choice: email, Facebook, or Twitter.

If you choose email, an auto-generated email containing the details of the deal will be created. Then, simply select those people you really care about. You know, the ones that you are absolutely sure would love to know about this sweet deal.

If you choose Facebook, you will be asked to log in to your Facebook account. After you’re logged in, your post will be displayed, including the deal. Include a personal message or just hit publish and the deal will be featured directly on your wall.

If you choose Twitter, follow the steps to get a PIN from Twitter. Once you get your PIN, enter it and log in to your Twitter account. The deal info will be shown; just hit tweet!

That’s all there is to it. It’s really simple. Share. Because, sharing is a large part of what got us here, to this point, as a society. The facility to share information and knowledge can be empowering. So don’t just live the sweet life, share it.
